OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE

OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE

Each and every day I realize that to raise my own visibility I have to get out of my comfort zone. Recently I did a street shoot-something that I always admired seeing other bloggers do but never had the courage to engage in personally.

Whether it’s  because I am extremely shy or if I am afraid of the stares from the passers-by i am not quite sure.

Thanks to my constant companion and friends (I always have them during my shoots) it went pretty well. I really, really enjoyed, much more than I thought I would. In fact, I plan on doing a lot more street shots.

The whole thing made me realize that one can lose nothing by trying. Putting oneself out there can be a scary prospect but every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

Thanks for reading.Hope your Thursday rocks

THE READING TAG

THE READING TAG

Wohoo!!!It’s Satur-daze!!coffee,pj’s and book kinda day..right??

I was reading  Bintiesque blog and i came across this reading tag which was open to all and it looked like so much fun so i decided to do it.

1.Do you have a certain place for reading?
No, I read anywhere. Stuck in traffic, waiting in on the line…..

2.Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
I rarely dog ear my pages. I try to have a book mark with me most of the time.

3.Can you stop reading anytime you want or do have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part etc.?

I am a chapter –stopper

4.Do you eat or drink while reading?

Drink? Sometimes. Eating??No…I end up getting distracted. Darn!!I love food too much.

5.Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?

TV is distracting. I have to fix my eyes on the book. Music? That depends with what’s playing;soft jazz/classical

6.One book at the time of several at once?

I am a one book kinda girl!!

7.Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Wait, Do People still read out loud?

8.Do you read ahead or skip pages?

I skip pages when the book is boring or when there’s too much description.

9.Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

Keeping it new honey!!!

10.Do you write in books?

Extremely minimal. I like to keep my books pristine.

And that is all  for the questions.I tag everyone who is reading this.Feel free to do your own list.and hey!!Remember to tag me so that  I can pop over and read your answers too!

PS: I know i have not done a book review in a long while. I’m currently reading The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. I’ll try and  float a review your way soon.

Have a bomb ass weekend!!!!

Love,Ladiebee.

FROM THE GYM TO THE STREET

FROM THE GYM TO THE STREET

Hello muffins. Welcome back (hug).Thank you for your prayers as I am now back on my feet.

On today’s style post I am talking about the athleisure trend which was major last year but still continues to sweep the streets. The trend which was popularized by celebrities like Rihanna, Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez simply involves incorporating active wear/gym clothing into everyday pieces.

The athleisure style gives “the cool girl look” without putting in a lot of effort. It’s the kind of style that I’d rock over the weekends or after work as it is convenient and comfortable.

Outfit details

Ruffled Top~Thrifted

Flannel shirt~Bro’s wardrobe

Leggings~Thrifted

Skechers~Gifted

Here are a few rules of thumb just in case you are planning to rock this trend.

  1. Invest in pieces that are functional and fashionable. They make the look stylish
  2. Accessorize appropriately-Hats, belts, bags, sunglasses and even scarfs makes the outfit extra.
  3. Dress for the occasion. It’s not a trend that can be worn everywhere.

Ps.This was my first street shoot and I must say it was fun. My team and I got weird stares from the passer-byes.lol

Well they say athleisure is the new casual. Would you rock this trend? Share and let’s connect.

Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.

AFRO-CHIC

AFRO-CHIC

Mellow Monday beautiful humans!!Are you ready to tackle the new week?

Well, here is something to keep your mood lovely and smiling all through the week featuring this Ankara slit maxi skirt. What I love most about the skirt is the zippered detail on the slit.

Outfit details

Body suit ~old (Mum’s)

Skirt ~Tailor made

The slit adds an extra edge to the outfit and the zippered detail makes it even more extra and versatile. On the days that I want to be modest,I could zip it up or zip it down when I want to show some leg.
